These little critters are fun to watch. They are also very efficient at keeping your aquarium clean. I'm helping my son sell his cherry shrimp.
Cherry Red Shrimp are undemanding shrimp in its care requirements. They should be kept in a well established aquarium with no predators.
Red Cherry Shrimp are very non-aggressive and spend most of the day grazing on plants, gravel and any other tank decorations for algae and other types of foods. When the Red Cherry Shrimp are kept in an aquarium that has no predators they are very active and only hide after molting (shedding exoskeleton to enable growth).
If a male and a female are present in a well cared for aquarium, the Cherry Shrimp will breed. You can start with 20 and have 100 a few months later. Females are larger and much more colorful, males are smaller and display a clear coloration with red spots. When the female is mature she will often times display a saddle which is the eggs developing in the females ovaries.
We offer two different shrimp packages. One has 10 shrimp, the other has 20 shrimp. You will likely receive a couple extra to help make up for possible DOA's. The shrimp will range in size from 1/4" to 3/4". We guarantee you will receive at least 10 or 20 shrimp alive on arrival. If you do not, contact us right away and we'll prorate a refund. These Shrimp are pretty hardy. DOA's are not too common. The shrimp may lose a little bit of their color during shipment but this will come back over time.
Shipping is included on your shrimp order (you will need to select priority mail). We typically ship on Monday and Tuesdays via priority mail to avoid the shrimp sitting in a Post Office over the weekend.
We hope you can have as much fun with this hobby as we've had with ours!
